Quarterly Product Releases and Updates - May 2022

Q2 Product Releases: Introducing Avvir Capture, improved coordination with in-app comments, an improved subcontractor experience, reporting and onboarding, and a BIM Track integration

What’s New

Introducing Avvir Capture: Directly upload, manage, and view 360° photos with Avvir Capture

Gain comprehensive visibility into your project with 360° photos, LiDAR, and BIM all managed within Avvir. With Avvir Capture, you now have a simple and straightforward way to get your 360° photos and other reality capture to your project team.

Using Avvir Capture is easy: upload 360° photos to Avvir along with a capture date, place the photos on a 2D floor plan with our alignment assistance tools, and then view the 360° photos compared to a BIM. No longer do you need to use a 3rd party tool to import, align, and manage 360° photos before viewing in Avvir.

Below, you can see how aligning photos using Capture works. We structure your photos using metadata about the photos, including time taken and GPS-based location, to connect the photos and automatically align them to your floor plan. We then provide you the ability to place them, dynamically updating “connected” photos.

Product Updates

Improved coordination and conversations within Comments

Whether it’s a problem with a trade’s self reported progress, an issue you see in a 360° photo, or an installation error from our Automatic Inspection, comments will let you coordinate, discuss, and contextualize any analysis or insight within Avvir. Within comments, you can ping users directly (they’ll be notified via email) to gather information or get issues resolved quickly.

Subcontractor Permissions

Invite your subcontractors to Avvir with confidence that they will only see 5D and cost data associated with their scope. We’ve also improved our Subcontractor onboarding experience, so your subcontractors’ can start working in Avvir right away.

Compare your subcontractor's reported progress to Avvir’s Analysis within the context of your project’s Work Breakdown Structure or Schedule of Values

Building on our support for custom Work Breakdown Structures and Schedule of Values within our platform, we now let you compare your Subcontractors’ reported progress to Avvir’s automatic progress quantification for their trade to help you better understand progress and identify potential discrepancies in Pay Apps.

This is currently in alpha and we’re rolling out the beta shortly.

BIM Track Integration

We’ve made it easier to act on deviations, clashes, and issues by integrating with BIM Track! Now, you have the ability to create an issue from Avvir directly in BIM Track, a leading BIM Collaboration software. The BIM Track + Avvir integration enables users of both products to uncover and manage changes that need to be made to the BIM or the field using Avvir’s Reality Analysis and BIM Track’s centralized issue-tracking platform for an improved design review workflow.

What’s Coming Soon

Manage your Team and LiDAR Scans within Avvir

Invite your team members to Avvir and assign scopes to them to limit what data they can see without needing to contact Avvir. Additionally, we’re rolling out the ability to let you upload scans and kick off Avvir’s analysis and processing directly, so you should have analysis results more quickly.

Do Not Track

Not everything in your BIM needs to be tracked and quantified. Our Do Not Track feature allows you to determine if certain parts of your building – really any elements in your BIM –  don’t need to be tracked and quantified by the Avvir platform.

Flexible layout and custom workflows

We’re added dynamic panels within the app that let you resize or remove info from the screen so you can focus on what matters. This will allow you to create custom workflows. For example, you’ll be able to compare a trade’s progress to their installation issues all within the context of the BIM – no more switching back and forth between various views or inspection modes.

Looking ahead, we’re actively looking at opportunities to continue to refine and improve our workflow and user experience in order to create maximum efficiency for our customers. We hope you’re excited about these new additions to Avvir and we are looking forward to announcing further product enhancements in Q3 of this year.
